Bei manchen Patienten kann der Neurochirurg entscheiden, anstelle der Implantation eines Shunts eine sogenannte endoskopische Drittventrikulostomie (ETV) durchzuf\u00fchren.<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

  • Die Entscheidung zugunsten dieser Behandlung h\u00e4ngt von der Ursache des Hydrozephalus und vom Alter des Patienten ab. Eignet sich diese Art von Behandlung, bietet sie den Vorteil, dass kein System implantiert werden muss. Wie bei allen Hydrozephalus-Behandlungen ist jedoch eine sorgf\u00e4ltige \u00dcberwachung erforderlich.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Nachdem der Neurochirurg ein Zugangsloch in den Sch\u00e4del gebohrt hat, f\u00fchrt er ein Endoskop mit einer Kamera und einer Lichtquelle in den dritten Ventrikel des Gehirns ein und er\u00f6ffnet dessen Boden.
